Playpark pervert Alan Hamilton has pleaded guilty to fresh sex offences at the park he lives beside, months after this paper warned he’d strike again.

The repeat sex offender admitted his latest crimes in which he exposed himself to children.

The 60-year-old, of Drumcoo Green, Dungannon, who was the first person in Northern Ireland to be charged with paying for sex, also breached the SOPO by having contact with persons under the age of 18.

Offending occurred close to Hamilton’s home, which overlooks a children’s playpark, on October 21 2020.

Two months earlier we reported how parents were horrified that Hamilton was allowed to live in Drumcoo Green.

On that occasion Hamilton was convicted of a string of offences, including sexually assaulting a waitress and asking a group of young girls if they were “up for sex?”

The judge had described him as “a danger to the public”.

Residents told us they felt they had been “abandoned” by the authorities because the area is working class and they warned Hamilton would commit further offences.

“We warned he would create other victims of his perverted behaviour and sadly we were proved right in a matter of weeks of speaking to the Sunday World,” said one mum.

Two further charges of committing a lewd, obscene and disgusting act by exposing himself to two girls were left on the court books last Tuesday.

Pre-sentence reports are to be prepared and Hamilton will appear again on February 2. He has been in custody since his arrest as bail was opposed due to concerns around his offending.

It was also noted the young complainants live in Hamilton’s area and police feared if bailed, he may approach them.
